Why you decided to compete for the Royalty Court? I had heard about it from the past year's Royalty and about how much they loved it! Also, the scholarship is great!
What do you expect from this year as a Royalty Representative? A barrel of laughs and a great time! I love Katie and Elizabeth and we have so much fun whenever we are together! I am excited about the once in a lifetime opportunity! The travel and meeting new people is something I always look forward to despite the early mornings!
Ever attended the Strawberry Festival? YES!!
If so, what is your favorite memory of the Festival? I most remember the parades! I remember sitting in the sun watching all the floats go by and wondering how they were made. Then my eyes would light up as I saw the royalty. I always thought the girls were actual queens and princesses of a country or something! Silly Little Julianne!
Who is your role model? My Family!
Why? My family has been through some hard times with my mother's on going 7 year fight with breast cancer. But not once in the whole 7 year span has my family turned their back on each other or their faith. It made them stronger. My entire family including aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents is exceptionally large and close. They are always there for each other and for those in the community. I am very proud and honored to be a part of my family. I don't think I could ask for a better Family.
Future plans - After I graduate form MPHS in 2007 I plan on attending a public college in Washington State. However, my choice for my future career is constantly changing but one constant in my choice has always included working with children. Currently I am looking forward to be a choir teacher but who know what I will want to be in a year!
Your advice for future Royalty Candidates - Be confident and happy with yourself. Be polite and respectful to everyone you meet and you will be received the same way. Make friends and be open to new experiences. Most importantly is to have fun with this great once in a lifetime opportunity!
