December 29, 2009  - SENIOR ROYALTY APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED! The deadline for the 2010-2011 Senior Royalty Court has been extended to Sunday, January 10, 2010. It was discovered that one of the links on our website was directing applicants to last year's applications and possibly causing confusion with potential candidates. That error has been corrected. We apologize for any confusion and encourage any and all students interested in representing the greater Marysville community to please apply!

December 20, 2009 - MEMBERSHIP AND GENERAL PUBLIC NEWSLETTER NOW ON WEBSITE The Berry Patch is a monthly newsletter designed to keep the members and general public informed of projects and decisions made by the Board and committees of the Strawberry Festival in their efforts to produce the annual Strawberry Festival celebration and promote the greater Marysville community area by participating in over 25 community parades throughout the Pacific Northwest.

December 5, 2009  - 2010-2011 JUNIOR ROYALTY APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE! Applications for our 2010-2011 Junior Royalty Court are now available. Deadlines for the applications are Saturday, January 30, 2010. If you are ready to have a year full of fun, meet new friends, create memories, develop your speaking skills and enjoy working with people then the Marysville Strawberry Festival Junior Royalty is just for you. The Junior Royalty gets to travel to different parts of Washington State representing the Marysville Strawberry Festival and the Marysville Community. December 4, 2009 - MARKET IN THE PARK APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE! Jodi Hiatt, Chairperson for the Market Committee reports that the applications for the 2010 Market are now available on our website. Please be sure to read the Committee's Welcome Letter and the Market's rules before filling out the appropriate application. One significant change involves the Concessionaires - the Market will no longer sell ice - leaving the vendors to purchase their ice from local businesses.

Deadline for the Concessionaires is May 1st - for everyone else - June 1st. Don't delay! Spots fill up fast! To go to the application page, please click here.

November 25, 2009  FESTIVAL BOARD VOTES TO INCREASE SCHOLARSHIP MONIES TO PAGEANT WINNERS -During a special Board meeting last night to approve certain line items for the upcoming 2009-2010 fiscal year, one item of note was that the Board felt that scholarship monies for the Royalty Court needed to be in line with that of other festivals of our size. Pageant Chairperson Jodi Hiatt mentioned that our Royalty will typically do over 25 parades per year - more than any other festival on the circuit - and that we should compensate them accordingly. The Board agreed and raised the Queen's scholarship to $5000 from $3000 and each Princess will get $3500 - up from $2000. Also, the Bob Klepper (Miss Congeniality) Award winner prize was doubled to $500 too. Ms. Hiatt was excited by the support from the Board and hopes that this will attract a greater pool of candidates from the greater Marysville area.

Also, Ms. Hiatt has extended the application deadline to Sunday, December 20th to give the new prospective candidates additional time to talk to their parents and consider being Marysville Strawberry Festival Royalty in light of these new developments.

November 5, 2009  - 2010-2011 ROYALTY APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE! Need money for College? Applications for our 2010-2011 Senior Royalty Court are now available. Deadlines for the applications are Thursday, December 10, 2009. Applications for the Junior Royalty will be out in the next couple of weeks. If you think that you would like to represent the Marysville area, make lots of new friends, take a road trip to some pretty cool places all over the Northwest, ride on the one coolest floats in Festival-land AND win some scholarship money for college then please, click here.

October 12, 2009 - SALMON DAYS PARADE PICTURES NOW AVAILABLE! Our traveling float finished out the regular parade season at Issaquah's Salmon Days Festival Grand Parade and won the Salmbassador's Award with Queen Shelby Hintze aboard. October 12, 2009 - AUTUMN LEAF FESTIVAL PARADE PICTURES POSTED! The Traveling Float committee journeyed over to Leavenworth and brought back the Mayor's Award with Queen Shelby and Junior Princess Sara in the annual Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival Grand Parade. The weather was gorgeous and pictures are now on our site from the parade (Saturday, September 26th) and can be seen by clicking here.

September 23, 2009 - FESTIVAL BOARD PLANNING RETREAT DATE SET The Annual Planning Retreat date for the 2010-2011 Marysville Strawberry Festival "Summertime Fun" has been set for Saturday, October 17th. It will be held at the new Festival office at 1059-G State Avenue. The morning session is reserved for Board members only. At 1:00pm - the meeting will then be opened up for Event Directors, members, volunteers, vendors, community members and anyone else wishing to participate. September 15, 2009 - STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL ELECTS NEW OFFICERS AND BOARD The results are in from the membership - and they have selected Angie Miller to lead the Festival in 2009-2010 as President. Angie has served on the Maryfest Board for several years, most recently as Vice President. For more information about the election, click here.

September 7, 2009 - STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL ATTENDS INAUGURAL TULALIP DAYS COMMUNITY PARADE The Tulalip Tribes held their first ever Tulalip Days Festival this Labor Day Weekend. September 2, 2009 - KELOWNA FAT CAT CHILDREN'S PARADE PICTURES POSTED! Our friend's from Kelowna finally posted pictures from their parade to their website. Unfortunately we were not able to take any for ours. So...I have posted two links on a page for these photos. They are pretty cool! You should see them! August 30, 2009 - FESTIVAL ANNUAL INSTALLATION BBQ DATE/TIME SET The Annual Installation BBQ will be held at Carol's house on Saturday, September 19th - from 3:00pm to whenever! This a membership and invited guest event. RSVP to President Bobbi. It is a potluck - main course will be fried & baked chicken or ham.

If your last name begins with A-M, please bring a salad. If your last name begins with N-Z, please bring a dessert. Soft drinks and water will be provided. July 20, 2009 - MARYFEST OFFICE VICTIM OF ACCIDENTAL FIRE! On Sunday, July 19, the Maryfest office located on the corner of Cedar and 4th Street (red caboose) became the victim of an accidental fire that caused significant damage and will force our organization to relocate for an undetermined amount of time.

May 27, 2009 - 2009 TRIKE RACE APPLICATIONS STILL OPEN! EVENT MOVED TO ASBERY FIELD FOR THIS YEAR... The Trike Race Committee is still looking for more participants for this year's Adult Trike Race. The fee for this year has been lowered for this year only to $40 per team to encourage participation for new teams. Must be 18 years of age to enter. Don't have a Trike to race? No problem! The Festival has two Trikes that you can use for the race! The event has also been moved to Asbery Field (by Totem Middle School) for this year only due to a logistical issue. May 19, 2009 - TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR FASHION SHOW! The annual Strawberry Festival Fashion Show - sponsored by Wal Mart - will be held on Tuesday, June 16th at noon at Leifer Manor. Tickets for the event are $20 (which includes a luncheon) and can be purchased at Attic Secrets Tea Room, Details Home Decor & Gifts, and Marysville Performing Arts Center by calling 425-923-4519. The event will feature some great summer fashions, a raffle and will be held regardless - rain or shine. 

May 4, 2009 - MARKET IN THE PARK FOOD CONCESSIONAIRE ALLOTMENT - FULL! The Market in the Park Committee will no longer be accepting applications for food concessionaires for the 2009 Festival season as they have met their allotment goal for this year. They would like to thank everyone for their consideration and participation! If you were not selected, please consider us for next year.

May 7, 2009 - MARYFEST VICE PRESIDENT ANGIE MILLER RECEIVES AWARD! Angie Miller, our 2008-2009 Vice President, was awarded the  prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Marysville Sunrise Rotary Club this week. The award was given for "....her outstanding commitment to the Marysville community and her continued support for the community." We couldn't agree more!

Angie has been a part of Maryfest for over 10 years. Congratulations Angie! Woohoo!

April 2, 2009 - TALENT SHOW LOOKING FOR MARYSVILLE'S TOP TALENT! The Talent Show committee has announced that tryouts for the 2009 Talent Show will be held on Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th from 5:30pm - 7:45 pm at the Marysville-Pilchuck HS Auditorium. Applications for the Talent Show tryouts can be obtained by clicking here. This year's Talent Show - featuring the finalists from those tryouts - will also be held at the Marysville-Pilchuck HS Auditorium on Thursday, June 18th at 6:30pm. 

March 22, 2009 - VENUE CHANGE TO KID'S PARTY AT THE PARK Please note that Kid's Party at the Park has been moved to Totem Middle School (Outer Courtyard) at 1605 - 7th Street) due to a logistical issue with the Festival. March 15, 2009 - FESTIVAL CROWNS NEW ROYALTY! The 2009 Royalty Pageant judges have selected Ms. Shelby Hintze to represent the Marysville Strawberry Festival as it's 2009 Senior Royalty Queen and joining her will be Senior Royalty Princesses Azzlinn Morales and Rebecca Thomas. Shelby is a Junior at MPHS, Azzlinn is a Senior at MPHS and Rebecca is a Junior at MPHS. All three are awarded a scholarship for their participation this year.

Candidates Jessica LaPlante and Erinn McPherson both tied for the Bob Klepper Memorial Congeniality Scholarship. Queen Shelby Hintze won an award for who pre-sold the most tickets to the April Friesner Memorial Royalty Scholarship Pageant.

Also crowned was Ms. Sara Clayton as our 2009 Junior Royalty princess. Congratulations to all!

March 4, 2009 - NEW EVENT ADDED TO FESTIVAL LINE-UP...KID'S PARTY AT THE PARK! Marysville Strawberry Festival is excited to announce the addition of a new event this year, Kids Party in the Park at Comeford Park.  Kids Party in the Park was specifically designed for youth in and around the Marysville community!  Kids Party in the Park will be held from Noon to 6pm on Saturday, June 20^th, 2009. for more information on this new exciting event, click here.

February 26, 2009 - FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES TULALIP RESORT & CASINO AS OUR 2009 FESTIVAL HEADQUARTERS! NWFH PACKETS NOW AVAILABLE! The Hospitality Committee has selected the 5-Star Rated Tulalip Resort & Casino as our Festival Headquarters for this year's event. All hosting events will be held at this outstanding venue.

February 17, 2009 - STRAWBERRY OPEN 2009 APPLICATIONS AND SPONSORSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! The Annual Strawberry Festival Golf Tournament sponsored by the Edward Jones Marysville Offices of Greg Jensen, Steve Muller & Loren Van Loo invite you out for round of fun - with the proceeds benefiting the Marysville Strawberry Festival Scholarship Fund which awards over $20,000 per year to local students. January 12, 2009 - APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2009 GRAND PARADE NOW BEING ACCEPTED! The Grand Parade committee has completed their revision of the forms for the 2009 Grand Parade. After filling them out for your organization - you can either mail or fax them back to us. The 2009 Parade Committee expects in excess of over 150 entries for this year's parade, so be sure to get your entry in before the May 1st deadline! January 1, 2009 - MARKET IN THE PARK VENDOR APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2009 EVENT! The Market committee has submitted the 2009 applications online for all vendors. What's new? A Student Artisan Category! Don't hesitate - get your application in today! The forms can be filled in online (to save you from all of that handwriting) and then printed so that you either mail or fax them afterwards. February 26, 2009 - FESTIVAL BOARD APPROVES 2009 THEME & PIN DESIGN! Your Strawberry Festival Board has announced that the theme for the 2009 Festival will be "A Magical Fantasy" and has approved a design for the Official 2009 pin shown below:

January 26, 2009 - ROYALTY PAGEANT DATE SET FOR SATURDAY, MARCH 14! The Pageant committee has set the 2009 Senior Royalty Pageant date for Saturday, March 14th at 7:00pm at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School Auditorium.
