May 20, 2010 - ARMED FORCES TORCHLIGHT PARADE PHOTOS Last weekend your wandering traveling float crew ended up in Spokane for the 2010 Armed Forces Torchlight Parade - the first evening parade of the season. It is part of the Spokane Lilac Festival. Pictures from the parade are available for viewing here.
May 11, 2010 - APPLE BLOSSOM PARADE PHOTOS Pictures from the 2010 Washington State Apple Blossom Festival Grand Parade in Wenatchee from Saturday, May 1st are now on the site and available for viewing. The Strawberry Festival Traveling Float picked up our first award of the season, the Golden Apple Award at their parade. To see the pictures, please click here.
May 8, 2010 - FASHION SHOW READY TO GO! DATE/TIME CHANGES! The Fashion Show Committee is all set to go...but there are a few changes that show-goers should be aware of. First, the Fashion Show will now be held on Wednesday, June 16th and it will now start at 4:30pm instead of the traditional luncheon format. Committee Chairperson Kerri Jorgensen states that it will continue to be held at the fabulous Leifer Manor out in North Marysville and that the cost will also still be $20 per ticket which will gain you entrance, a delightful hors d'oeuvre and dessert. April 28, 2010 - VERIZON WIRELESS & TULLY'S COFFEE TO SPONSOR GRAND PARADE Maryfest is pleased to announce that Verizon Wireless and Tully's Coffee will be co-sponsors of the 2010 Marysville Strawberry Festival Grand Parade. Both companies are new to the Festival this year and have significant presence in community events and relations in the Pacific Northwest.
The Tully’s sampling tour is visiting the Marysville Strawberry Festival bringing the rich, slow-roasted taste and aroma of Tully’s coffee for you to enjoy. April 28, 2010 - GOT STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE? Strawberry time is almost here again. If you're one of us that can't get enough of this delectable fruit, here's an opportunity to enjoy all you can eat. April 26, 2010 - ADULT TRIKE RACES READY TO GO AT ASBERY FIELD On Friday, the 18th of June the Adult Trike Races will once again terrorize Asbery Field with their crazy escapades through the obstacle course set up by the Marysville Noon Rotary Club. Sponsored once again by North County Bank and announced by KRKO North Sound 1380 Radio this zany event never fails to please the crowd. Entry deadline is Monday, June 7th. April 26, 2010 - KIDDIE PARADE - SATURDAY, JUNE 19th - 6PM The committee for the Kiddies Parade is excited to have the event again as a pre-parade event before the Grand Parade on State Avenue. Registration takes place at Totem Middle School at 4:00pm. There are awards given out in five categories: floats, costumes, pets, wheels and groups. April 23, 2010 - BOARD APPOINTS WILCOXSON TO POSITION The Board of Directors appointed Rhonda Wilcoxson to serve out Bo Vieweg's position on the Board at Tuesday's regular monthly meeting. Rhonda has served as a volunteer for the Strawberry Festival, she has also had two daughters that has been past Royalty for the Festival, Queen Kristi in 2005 and Queen Danielle in 2008. Bo is leaving the Board as he has accepted a new employment opportunity in South Carolina.
This is the third Director appointment made this year, with Sheila Thompson replacing Troy Van Horn and Linda Farrington replacing Janet Cavalli. Both Van Horn and Cavalli resigned due to family commitments. The Festival thanks Bo, Janet and Troy for their service!
April 22, 2010 - FOOD CONCESSIONAIRES APPLICATIONS FOR MARKET ARE CLOSED The Market Committee have decided today to close the application process for Food Concessionaires ONLY for this year's Strawberry Festival as they have received more than their quota for quantity and variety. They are still taking applications for arts & crafts vendors, commercial vendors and student artisans. They would like to thank everyone for applying and considering the Strawberry Festival Market in the Park as one of their festival stops this summer. April 19, 2010 - 2010 ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE RELEASED The Entertainment Committee has secured their acts for this year's Strawberry Festival. While a couple of the acts are familiar faces, Marysville Performing Arts centre and Magazine Band - several new acts have been brought in for your enjoyment. On Friday, hypnotist Ron Stubbs and the DK Stewart Band will be here. On Saturday, the Magazine Band, Strandyd and the Bullet Creek Band make appearances. On Sunday, Marysville Performing Arts Centre and the Totem Middle School Marimba Band will close out the Festival weekend. For information and times on these acts, please click here.
April 19, 2010 - KIDS PARTY IN THE PARK II The second year of the Kids Party in the Park brings entertainment acts from Reptile Man, Ronald McDonald and the Marysville Performing Arts Centre. April 15, 2010 - FRIENDSHIP ROSE PLANTING LOCATION AND DATE SET The 2010 Friendship Rose Planting will be hosted this year by Portland's Official Ambassadors - The Royal Rosarians. The location has been moved to Totem Middle School as the former location at Maryfest Office (Caboose) was destroyed this past year due to a fire. April 12, 2010 - MEET OUR SENIOR ROYALTY! Our Festival just completed our first four parades - yep, four, during the Daffodil Festival in Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner and Orting last weekend. And our Senior Royalty performed their very first ambassadorial duties remarkably well! Want to know more about the ladies that will represent us all year long? Well, first up - the Senior Royalty. April 5, 2010 - DAFFODIL PARADE FIRST UP FOR THE FESTIVAL SEASON! The 2010-2011 Marysville Strawberry Festival Royalty Court will get their very first "Royal appearance" as a Court at the Daffodil Festival Parade this Saturday, April 10th in the cities of Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner and Orting. This season's kickoff is a four-city event that starts at 10:15am in Tacoma and ends with a 5:00pm parade in Orting.

Their next parade will be on May 1st in Wenatchee for the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival.

March 31, 2010 - GOT TALENT? APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED! Applications for this years 2010 Strawberry Festival Talent Show - presented by Marysville Performing Arts Centre are now available! This event requires that you tryout for the finals and the tryouts are held on Tuesday, May 11th and Wednesday, May 12th. The deadline for entries is Friday, May 7th. Contestants that move on to the Finals will showcase their talents during Strawberry Festival Week on Thursday, June 17th at the MPHS - Auditorium. For more information, please click here.
March 21, 2010 - WILCOX CROWNED AS 2010 FESTIVAL QUEEN! Kaija Wilcox, a Senior from Marysville-Pilchuck HS, was crowned Queen of the 2010-2011 Marysville Strawberry Festival Royalty Court. Ms. Wilcox was selected based upon her scores for public appearances and her performance in the April Friesner Memorial Royalty Pageant. Joining her on the Royalty Court this year is First Princess Haley Otto, a Junior from Marysville-Pilchuck HS and Second Princess Ella Stefoglo, a Senior at Lakewood HS. For more, please click here.
March 9, 2010 - 2010 GRAND PARADE GRAND MARSHALS SELECTED The 2010 Marysville Strawberry Festival Grand Parade Grand Marshals have been selected -and they are Nancy and Jack Bell from Spee Bi Dah, Tulalip. Nancy, the current Treasurer for the Festival is a 26 year volunteer for the Festival and her husband, Jack, has also served in various capacities behind the scenes for the Festival for that amount of time also. Their fifty years of volunteerism will be honored and celebrated at the Grand Parade, Saturday, June 19th at 7:45pm. February 26, 2010 - FESTIVAL MARKETING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES MEDIA PARTNERS FOR 2010-2011 Genie Brovold, Marketing Committee Chairperson for the Festival announced today that the Festival has come to agreements with the North County Outlook, KRKO 1380 AM Radio and KZOK 102.5 FM Radio for media partnerships in 2010-2011.
The North County Outlook (Marysville) will be the "Official" program publisher for the Festival while KRKO 1380 AM Sports Radio (Everett) and KZOK Classic Rock 102.5 FM Radio (Seattle) will market the Festival and do some on site broadcasting. On Saturday, June 19th, legendary radio personality, Spike O'Neill from KZOK will be doing a "live" remote from Asbery Field from 12 noon - 2:00pm. Be sure to visit him!
February 25, 2010 - GRAND PARADE APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED! Applications for consideration for acceptance into the 2010 Strawberry Festival Twilight Grand Parade have now been posted online and are available! The deadline for entries is Saturday, May 1st. Maryfest Parade Committee organizers expect over 200 entries for approximately 120 slots in the parade. February 16, 2010 - 2010-2011 PAGEANT DATE SET! The 2010-2011 April Friesner Memorial Royalty Pageant will be held Saturday, March 20th at 7:00 pm at the MPHS Auditorium. Tickets are $10 or $5 for students at the door with a valid school ASB card. We have 9 young ladies running for Senior Royalty and 13 young ladies (all 6th graders) running for the Junior Royalty. February 15, 2010 - NORTH COUNTY OUTLOOK SELECTED AS OFFICIAL PROGRAM PUBLISHER FOR 2010-2011! President Angie Miller announced today that the North County Outlook was selected as the Official Program publisher for the 2010-2011 Marysville Strawberry Festival. She asks on behalf of the Festival that you please support the North County Outlook when making your advertising decisions during our Festival season. February 5, 2010 - 2010 TRAVELING FLOAT SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED The traveling float will make its rounds throughout the Pacific Northwest this year to 26 community parades at press time. We return to Spokane and Portland's Starlite Parade this year as well as going to new cities like Prosser and Odessa. January 7, 2010 - FIRST ANNUAL WINE TASTING EVENT FUND RAISER The Marysville Strawberry Festival is proud to announce its first annual wine tasting event on Thursday, February 4th from 5-8pm at Winestyles (6608 - 64th Street NE #A, phone # 360-658-4850) in Marysville! Please join us at this event to increase community awareness of the Strawberry Festival on the third week of June and to raise money for the royalty scholarships and events!
