Greg and Walter stripped the float of all of the decorating material and the hard deck. Everything was separated to determine whether or not we would possibly re-use it or place it into storage.
The chassis was inspected from stem to stern for any problems that will have to be addressed before we move forward. We discovered some damage to the rear deck that we think can be easily fixed. Greg and Walter also cut off the slanting sides as we are changing from a rectangular footprint to more of a guitar/peanut shaped footprint (drawing week #4).
Greg started on all of the mechanical issues. New spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor. Oil change, oil filter. When he removed the front disc brakes he discovered that one of the rotors was heavily scored, enough so that we had to order two new rotors. Greg also tested the auxiliary radiator fans for operation. He also replaced the broken transmission mount.
