EVENT UPDATE!
May 25, 2004
The following events ARE NOT accepting applications any longer as they are FULL!
Grand Parade, Food Concessionaire Booths, Parade Vendors, Talent Show.
The Grand Parade continues to be an attractive event for participants. Parade Chairperson Carol Kapua credits the "LIVE" telecast on KSTW-UPN11 for the increased interest. "Anytime you can been seen by over 40,000 parade spectators PLUS over 50,000 viewers - all at the same time - you have a tremendous opportunity in getting your community, organization or business the exposure you desire. Last year we had over 170 applicants for the 118 spaces in the parade! This year, we reached the 120 mark last Friday (May 21)! That's nearly one month PRIOR TO THE PARADE!"
Ms. Kapua promises that this year's version of the parade will be the best ever with the traditional floats from all over the State, plus a large contingent of Drill Teams, some Pipe Bands, and a few surprises!
Market Chairperson, Jodi Hiatt has the same problem. "We had to close down the application process for Food Concessionaires and Parade Vendors because I want to ensure that the Market-in-the-Park has the right mix of Arts & Crafts, Commercial and Concessionaires. The fact that we had to stop taking applications now is a credit to the success of the Market, which continues to build traffic and interest as each year passes.. Stop by this year and see what's new!" Ms. Hiatt also wants you to know that ARTS & CRAFT booths and some COMMERCIAL booth spaces are still available. Your application can be sent online from this website.
Talent Show Chairperson Marcie Giesler echoed a similar situation. "Gosh, the Talent Show is nearly a month away - and we had tryouts last week (Thursday, May 20 & Friday, May 21) to determine the finalists. There was a great group of singers, dancers and actors all competing to make the finals. I think that this year's show will be very entertaining and will show area residents that we have lots of great amateur talent in our community." he talent show is on Thursday, June 17th at 6:00pm at the Cedarcrest Auditorium.
