THIS YEAR'S STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL HAILED AS A SUCCESS!

President Jodi Hiatt has announced that this year's Strawberry Festival has been another huge success despite the cooler weather experienced during the parade weekend.

Reports from the post-festival critique meeting focused on improving events for 2007, increasing attendance and shared learnings from the various event chairpersons.

"I would like to thank the Tulalip Tribes and the Tulalip Casino for being our Title Sponsor again this year. And I would also like to thank all of our GREAT Sponsors and Volunteers for making the 2006 Strawberry Festival another great year," said Ms. Hiatt.

"I am very proud of our Board members for the amount of organizing, executing and hard work that they put into this year's Festival and want them to know how appreciative I am for them to support this great Community Event," she added.

"Every year, for 75 years, this Festival has drawn the community together to celebrate the harvest of the Strawberry....but today, we have much more to celebrate and we do it bigger and better than anyone north of Seattle!" Ms. Hiatt exclaimed.

The Strawberry Festival's work is not done, at least not yet. The Award-Winning Traveling Float will make at 14 more appearances at Festivals throughout the Northwest and possibly in San Diego, CA for the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl Parade in December.

In August, elections will take place for new officers and for some seats on the Board of Directors. Then the tedious planning for next year's Festival begins.
