JOAN HOLMES - running for GENERAL BOARD MEMBER - I’ve been fortunate to live in Marysville most of my entire life. I am the mother of a son, Bill and a daughter, Bobbi. After working in a few business offices, the opportunity arose for me to join the salary ranks at Scott Paper, now owned and operated by Kimberly-Clark. In 2000, I retired from KC after 32 years of service and now I am enjoying the good life of what comes up with the sun each day!
I met my husband, Les, and married in 1969 after his return from the Viet Nam and the Army. Now we are looking forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary this month. We’re still looking forwarded to enjoying our retirement; Les finally retired from Edgewood Dental Lab a couple of years ago and the plan was to travel. But as fate would have it, we wound up with a baby; 9 months old and growing. We’ve had him off and on since then, but he’s been with us full time since he’s been 3 years; he’ll be six (Aug 17th). So our travel is on hold and we try to enjoy the good life around the school year! So all in all, life is good and we’re always looking for the next good thing to come around the corner!
