NORTHWEST FESTIVAL HOSTING ASSOCIATION

Maryfest is proud to be a member of the Northwest Festival Hosting Association an organization made up of eleven festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Maryfest joined this close knit group in 2001 whose operating philosophy is to work together and commit to supporting each other by sending a delegation to each members festival. By being a part of Northwest Festivals, Marysville can rely on the participation of at least 10 other community floats/festivals in our Grand Parade.

A hosting package is offered at each community's festival which generally includes accommodations, receptions, a formal or semi-formal dinner, entertainment, a rose planting ceremony performed by the Portland Royal Rosarians and a farewell breakfast on Sunday morning. Of course, the members are also participating in the Grand Parade!

Our membership consists of the following (with the 2008-2009 presidents):

     Astoria, Oregon - Astoria Regatta (2008-2009 President Steve Roberts)

     Issaquah, Washington - Salmon Days (2008 -2009 Captain Coho Candy Hammer)

     Leavenworth, Washington - Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival (2008-2009 President Charlotte Ley, Royal Lady of Autumn Leaves 2007-2008 Elisabeth Saunders, 2008-2009  Kanzler Nancy Watson of the Royal Bavarians)

     Marysville, Washington - Strawberry Festival (2008-2009 President Judy Anderson)

     New Westminster, British Columbia - Hyack Festival (2008-2009 President Sue Sayer)

     Olympia, Washington - Capital Lakefair (2008-2009 President Bob Barnes)  

     Portland, Oregon - Royal Rosarians (2008-2009 Prime Minister Peter Glazer)

     Seattle, Washington - Seafair (2008-2009 Commandant Laurent Martin)

     Spokane, Washington - Lilac Festival (2008-2009 President Cecelia Stephens)

     Tacoma (Puyallup, Sumner, and Orting) - Daffodil Festival (2008-2009 President Ron Simchen)

     Wenatchee, Washington - Apple Blossom Festival (2008-2009 Director General Greg Oakes, 2008-2009 Chancellor Mary Dodge of the Wenatchee Applarians)
