TACOMA - PUYALLUP - SUMNER - ORTING

Hi Everyone,
I know Carol will be sending out a "report" on the Daffodil parade and I don't want to step on her reporter toes, but I just wanted to say "Thank you" to all that attended. Bobbi, Linda, Joel, Angie, Troy, Tom, Carol, Chuck, DC, Walt, Katie, Queen Shelby, Princess, Azzlinn, Princess Rebecca, Tamara, Kurt & Hunter Hintze, Royalty Chaperones Teresa and Debbie. You guys were all AWESOME. I think we had great teamwork from the minute we got to the float barn to the time the float was put away. Carol, the food, as always was wonderful. I know that takes a lot of time to put together but know that it was greatly appreciated all day (the brownies were terrific). Thank you Debbie, Tamara & Kurt  for stepping in and driving extra cars and Hunter for carrying the banner. I know that Daffodil parade is a little overwhelming for the new Royalty and you got away before I could get to the cars and tell you but you girls were troopers and did a great job. It will get easier as the season goes along ladies. For those of you that were not able to attend it was a beautiful day and a great start to the parade season.

Thanks Everyone,
Jodi

On Wednesday before we left we took the float to E&E Lumber to make sure we had what it took to make Shelby safe. Shelby and her father came and Chuck went over with them with what he was going to do to make this happen. It was too cold to make a run through putting the float together and taking it down. Those that showed up were Chuck, Richard, Judy, Walt and Katie.

We left on Friday morning before 10am for Tacoma. Per the original instructions we were moved back to the original float barn on Thursday afternoon.  The crew that were there to put the float together and the daffodils on were Jodi, Linda, Bobbi, Angie, Troy, Chuck, Walt, Katie, Tom, and Walter (Mac and Heidi). DC showed up just at the end of decorating.

It took a little longer to put it together as it was the first time and some of the instructions did not match the numbers. Everyone worked together and it got done.  It looked very nice when it was done. The 3000 daffodils went very fast and we were out of there and on the way to the hotel by 4pm. This was the earliest ever.

Walt got the speakers hooked up and Chuck had the bar done for Shelby and Tom made the runs to get the supplies we needed.  For Troy's first time he was amazing. We may have been few in numbers but it went fast and everyone really pitched in. Thanks to you all for a great job well done.

The 4 parades must have gone along very smoothly because that was what I have been told. We were awarded the Festival Award.  This is a banner award and Jodi and Angie carried it in Tacoma as there were no banner carriers.  Linda and Troy carried our banner and sometime during the next 3 parades Shelby's brother carried the banner.

You all did a great job and Thank You for all your help and now that the longest day of parades is over the rest are a piece of cake. Shelby, Azzlinn, and Rebecca - You guys are awesome!

The next parade is in Wenatchee on May 2nd.  The float will go over on Wednesday and set up will be on Friday. Dress code is a Red Blazer, White Shirt, Black Pants, and Black Shoes.  I have not received all the info on this parade yet so it will be to you when I get it.
