HYACK FESTIVAL GRAND PARADE
Saturday, May 23, 2009
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C.

by Carol Kapua:
This last weekend we went up to Hyack. DC had his
birth certificate this time so no jail time for him. This time the float and
trailer made it through with little trouble coming and going. That does not
count all the phone calls again but we were able to cross paying less this
time. Still working to get the $66.00 off for insurance because it is a scam. I
told them that too.
Tried to take the float out of the trailer but could not get it in gear but with
muscle it was pushed out. Once out found out the motor mount was broken. With
great brain work on behalf of Tom, Arvin, Chuck, and Kurt Hintze they were able
to fix it enough that we could make it through the parade on our own power. The
rest of the crew was Judy, Bobbi, Teresa, Rhonda, Danielle, DC, Hunter, Tamara,
And Azzlinn's 2 younger sisters, and our Royalty Shelby, Becca, and Azzlinn. We
had a very special escort to the parade by the royal police. We were there by
10:55 for the 11 am parade start. We did not make judging but were very well
received by the crowd. The most important thing is that we made the parade and
no one was hurt. THANK YOU ALL FOR SUCH A GREAT JOB!
This week Chuck needs to have some welding done and it needs to be done asap
because the crew leaves for Shelton on Friday for their parade. Teresa and Judy
you guys have someone you know if Chuck has not called you please contact him
with the phone numbers so this can be taken care.
We were late getting home because we stayed and helped 2 other
float crews that had problems. One was Kelowna and he fell off his ladder and
his float was dead in the water. Thanks gang. The other was Olympia and their
truck was dead in the water and they needed help.
It just goes to show you that no matter how small we are in numbers we do help
others. Thanks for that.
A BIG THANK YOU TO THE HYACK FLOAT (Corey & Tim) CREW FOR ALL THEIR HELP FOR US
AND THEY WERE EVEN GOING TOW US JUST SO THAT WE COULD BE IN THE PARADE.
On Friday the float is leaving from the caboose at 3pm. Chuck is driving and
Angie, Azzlinn and Becca will be traveling with him in the truck. The Hintze
family will follow them. I have not confirmed this but Jodi has volunteered to
drive down and we will get a van from Roy Robinson and I will get the time today
and get back to you with this information. So far who is going with the van
right now is Bobbi and DC. You will staying at Super 8 which is close to Wal
Mart and Fred Meyer. The Address is 2943 Northview Circle, Shelton.....

and the confirmation # are 906036943, 937713048,968983612,984110142.
DC will be at Federal Way Park and ride right next to the freeway, this is not
the exit number but the 272nd exit and he will be standing there and he will
jump in and then you are back on the freeway.
