ISSAQUAH

by Carol Kapua:

Boy you have all prayed enough that this is the last one you will get from me for a long time. Bet you are all happy about this.

Our last scheduled parade was Issaquah. It was a nice cold morning but no rain. We had a very good crew. Kerri, Chuck, Sheila, Angie, Bobbi, Linda, Tom, DC,  Hunter, Kurt, Tamara and Kerri's daughter. All went very well except Sara got all the way there and got ill so Teresa had to leave with her and get her home. One good piece of news for Sara is that you still are going to get the ring so do not worry. We hope you are feeling much better. Becca did not go because of surgery so Shelby did it alone this time and we won what is considered Issaquah's Grand Sweeps. If I have left anyone out I am so sorry and please let me know.

Most everyone went to the Market to have lunch and Angie and I got ready and headed for Portland for their Preime Minister's Installation Ball. We arrived right on time and had a very lovely evening. Great food, great Rosarians to sit with. Angie was promised a Rose Planting. That was good news. We were treated extremely well. What a great time. We left there and headed home by 10 pm. It is great to have rest stops where we stopped and got dressed on the way down and changed on the way back. We made it home by 2am.

Just so everyone is aware and in the loop, the copier machine has been settled. The insurance company and Copiers NW came to an agreement and we will not have to pay the deductible. That was $250.00 that Copiers NW saved us. That is the good news and we may have the copier sometime this next week. When they come up they will pick up the old one from Jodi. When this is going to happen I will let you know the exact day and time.

Shelby, the cars so far are BMW black, Mustang red and Chrysler purple and at this time Roy Robinson is not sure what they will have. Of course this could change as people do and I have a red Volkswagen standing by. The old cars will not come out in the elements. This is a possibility at this time of the year.

Nancy has spent many hours working in the office getting items and getting phones set up and also the fax machine. Thank you.

If you have not checked out the web site please do so. Your picture should be on there now (except Troy and Bo). He has posted all the parades now.

If I do not see you before have a great Halloween. Shelby I will see you on the 30th to make sure all goes well.

Chuck and I will be picking up the bleachers at the end of the month. We have an event of interest that is interested in the bleachers the weekend after our festival. Just waiting to hear back from them.

Chuck needs a place to raise up the float to check on the brakes and if they are going out he needs to replace them and and has to order them from Spokane because that is the only place that carries them.  It needs to be a covered and dry place that this needs to be done in. The front end still needs some more welding done. Does anyone know anyone?

Thank  you everyone for a great year.
