SHELTON

Pictures to come!

On a cheerier note, since Carol is in Hawaii I will report on the parade in Shelton. The truck and float loaded with Chuck, Angie, Azzlinn and Rebecca being followed by Shelby and her parents Kurt and Tamara left the caboose on Friday at 3:00 pm. They hit traffic all the way so had a much longer ride than anticipated. Bobbi and I left at 5:15 and stopped in Federal way and picked up DC. We all arrived by 7:30 (after taking a quick tour of Shelton trying to find the hotel). Went to A&W for a quick bite to eat and then to bed. Up by 5:30 to get the float put together. They have 2 judgings, first was at 9:00 with out the Royalty and then again at 10:00 with the Royalty. We took 3rd place in our category. It's a nice short parade and very warm. There were more floats there than we thought there would be. Daffodil, Sequim, Port Orchard, The Swedish festival from Astoria, Olympia and us. I hope I got them all. Every one in Shelton was very nice and receptive. The float crew said it is a parade that we would recommend doing again. We had a nice picnic in Kneeland park (found on our Friday night tour) and all were on the road by 2:30. We got back to the caboose about 5:15 Sat evening. Thanks to all that went.
