TULALIP DAYS COMMUNITY PARADE
Saturday, SEPTEMBER 5, 2009
TULALIP

by Carol Kapua:
It was a great day for a parade at Tulalip. The
weather really turned out great. This is our TITLE SPONSOR and I am sorry to say
that only 6 of our Board members were there. Nancy and Jack - thanks for being
there to cheer us on. The board members there were Nancy, Judy, Jodi, Frank,
Bobbi and Teresa. We had so many that traveled so far to do this. Tom flew in
from Vegas, Linda Haglund drove over from Wenatchee, Bobbi's niece and
grand-niece were here from Oregon. The rest of us were from here - Rick, Ricky
(did not find a date because he is very particular), Chuck drove, Dana, D.C.
and myself. The royalty was Rebecca and Sara. Sara will be doing the next 2
parades.
DC has a 40 hour week job right now with Hertz. Frank, I will have to eat my
words about that team you went to see play Saturday night.
Tomorrow night is the City council meeting and we have signatures to save the
caboose. If any of you are able to attend it would be great to support this. The
meeting starts at 7pm at City hall upstairs.
Our next parade is September 26th and it is in Leavenworth. This is a hosting
one so we will have a formal dress code for this one. Wenatchee has invited us
to have lunch with them and they do the cooking. That should be nice.
October 3rd is our last parade on the circuit in Issaquah. It is our last
hosting festival also. Remember they have a very large market there.
DC went over to Prosser for their parade today and he was working on getting
them to come over next year as well as Sunnyside. That would be a good thing. We
will know if they are going to because our parade is before theirs. Thanks DC.
Good news - it looks like all the roses may make it.
Till next time.
