NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C.

by Carol Kapua:

There is great news....for those of you that knew Nancy was in the hospital, she came home on Saturday. She is glad to be home but she needs down time so please let her have it because we need her to be strong for the festival and her ride down State Avenue. Really we just want her to be well and strong again. She is so worried that the bills are not going to be paid on time but I have reassured her that there are able bodied people that can take care of things until she can get us back on track. Just get well Nancy.

This last weekend we went up to Hyack and had a wet time there. Changing clothes did not help because you just got wet again. The crowd that came was very warm and encouraging. We had a good time but were unable to use the Cafe due to the weather. Our Royalty did it again. Wooed the crowds. We won the Hyack Award. It is the International Award. The award was given to Angie and they took pictures of her and also the float.

The crew that took this adventure consisted of Mark Libbing truck and float driver, Arvin, Judy, Sheila, Angie, and Bobbi. Debbie was the chaperone, Queen Kaija, Princess Ella, and Princess Haley.

Thank you all for the good time.

Starlite is this next weekend. The floats will be moved from assembly no later than 4pm. I feel we have at least 2 hours of work to have the float ready to move. Greg will be the float driver and he will let me know what time he wants to leave. Teresa is the chaperone. This will be red blazers, white shirts, black pants, and black shoes. This is a parade that we will pack up and come home even the royalty is planning on doing this. If we get too tired we will stop. We are number #83.

Thank you.
