TRAVELING FLOAT

Maryfest's traveling float and crew have an awesome responsibility. Oftentimes it's the only reminder people around the Northwest have of our great City, Marysville.

From our conduct to the presentation of our theme, the Strawberry Festival works tirelessly in promoting our week-long Festival and our community at large. We have been fortunate over the last several years to have developed life-long relationships with other festivals and to have been accepted into the prestigious Northwest Festivals Hosting Association.

Usually, the traveling float operates under a reciprocating agreement with other festivals, i.e. if you bring your float to our parade, we'll take ours to your parade. However, the Maryfest Board at times will deem it necessary, in the interest of goodwill, to send our float to a festival that either doesn't have a float or couldn't make it to our Festival (due to hardship or mechanical problems). In each and every city or town that we travel to-we have been warmly received.

 

The traveling float will probably tour 25+ community festivals throughout the Northwest and Canada during the parade season. We also are present at our "Merrysville for the Holidays" Christmas parade in December.

Each year, our Festival is usually honored with an invitation to the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl Parade in San Diego, California. The parade is held the Thursday after Christmas and is very selective about float entries.

The parade is billed as the largest balloon parade in the United States and features live syndicated television broadcasting along with multiple live radio station broadcasts.

Each year we await an invitation to appear again. While it is quite an honor to be invited-a lot of planning and hard work goes into making it happen.
